Wire rope carries tension efficiently, weighs very little and almost disappears visually. That makes it the natural choice for stays and trusses, balustrade infills, suspended canopies, rope sculptures and green facades.
828 supplies the complete Jakob Rope Systems architectural range: marine-grade stainless ropes from 0.62 mm to 26 mm, rods from 5.3 mm to 21.9 mm, and hundreds of end terminations, turnbuckles, clevises, anchors and clamps. Almost any connection detail can be solved with standard, certified parts.
Stainless rope needs very little maintenance and keeps its finish for decades. We support the whole project, from engineering and load calculations to product selection, factory or on-site swaging, installation and inspection.

Ropes and rods
Single-strand ropes (1 × 7, 1 × 19, 1 × 37), wire ropes with steel core (6 × 7, 6 × 19, 6 × 36 + WC) or fibre core (6 × 36, 8 × 7 + FC), and stainless rods with optional threads and wrench flats.
Threaded ends
Standard external and internal thread ends, swaged Vissline ends and Univiss Plus ends for neat, adjustable connections.
End stops and fittings
Radiused head ends, clamp rings, post fittings, eye ends and the Variball system to fix rope to almost any post or structure.
Turnbuckles, clevises and eye ends
Every assembly needs a way to tension it. Turnbuckles, clevises and eye ends connect to brackets and lugs; the Forte programme covers heavy loads.
Anchoring systems
Anchor plates, spacers, tube brackets, welding lugs and angle sections to fix rope assemblies to concrete, timber or steel.
Assemblies and loops
Ropes cut and assembled to length with internal or external threads, swaged loops with thimbles, and loop clamps, or supplied in bulk.
Rope clamps
Cross clamps and suspension-rope clamps join intersecting ropes (up to three) and fix suspension ropes to posts, making rope figures more stable.

Can ropes be supplied cut to length?
Yes. Assemblies can be swaged at the factory to exact lengths with threaded ends, loops or eye ends, or assembled on site with self-assembly fittings and battery-powered swaging tools.
Do stainless cables need maintenance?
Very little. Marine-grade stainless steel keeps its finish for a long time; we recommend periodic inspection of tension and fittings, which 828 can carry out.
Can you engineer the structure?
Yes. 828 works out the loads, rope sizes, anchor details and pretension, supplies the components and installs the system.
