Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corporation is one of the leading feed manufacturers in the Philippines. The roof of its facility carries a large solar array, and keeping the panels and roof clean and serviceable means regular work at height on a trapezoidal metal roof.
The solution
Working for Transnational Uyeno Solar Two Corporation, 828 Cable System designed, supplied and installed a certified horizontal lifeline across the roof, giving maintenance teams a continuous anchor between the rows of panels.
- End and intermediate brackets fixed to the roof sheets with rivets and self-drilling TEK screws
- 8 mm stainless steel wire rope with a travelling carriage for uninterrupted movement
- Tensioner with swaged terminations and energy-absorbing components
- Spring-type shock absorber to reduce arrest forces
- Line routing chosen to limit swing-fall hazards across the work area
The result
Roof cleaning, roof maintenance and solar panel servicing are now carried out with 100% tie-off, supporting Pilmico’s safety programme and keeping the array maintained.
